An event space dedicated to Imaginative Storytelling!
The Mind, Heart, & Soul Series
The Mind, Heart, & Soul Series is a sensorial experience that transports attendees to a mythical land of ancient text, mystery, luxury, and sensuality. The purpose of this event space is to bring people closer together while offering them the space to open their minds to the possibility of exploring hidden aspects of themselves. We value trust, the art of living and loving, intelligence, grader, melancholy, dramatics, sex, power, prestige, and old worlds.
We desire people to elevate their minds, hearts, and souls with new statuses by centering the imaginative world of storytelling!
Welcome and enjoy!

The Mind, Heart, and Soul Series
The Mind, Heart, and Soul Series
The event space would be scheduled to open in September and close in March. To break down the event series, I have broken the months into four sessions. Session one would be months September and October, Quarter two would be November and December, Quarter three would be January and February, with March being Quarter four. The reason for this schedule is so that each session can focus on the themes of the Mind, Heart, and Soul series. Session one is dedicated to the Mind, Session two is focused on the Heart, and session three focuses on the Soul. Session four is our closing session and will focus on reviews of the overall series.
Session One
The Mind
September- October
This session would focus on the heart through community gathering and fun parties. We would partner with brands and companies such as Half Magic, PARADE, E.L.F, Fenty, and Farfetch to create a welcoming and dynamic atmosphere. The goal of the November and December months would be to unwind, rejoice in the year ending, and party the night away. The event for November would be a friendsgiving and December would have a massive giveaway party.
This season would focus on reflecting, journaling, yearly strategy and manifesting. We would partner with companies and brands like Spotify, Apple Music, and the Therapy for Black Girls podcast. The goal of this session would be to focus on the soul through music and self affirmation. Our January event would be a weekly artists in residence series which would highlight a collective of artists that uplift, transport, and inspire people. Our February event would focus on self love and self affirmation. We would host a sensual yoga session and hopefully have instructors like Ruth Bruno of @RuthPilatesStudio who focuses on sensual yoga poses and at home workouts.
Session Two
The Heart
November - December
This session will feature events with a focus on literature and celebrate the spooky season. We would partner with brands and companies like Thriftbooks, Audible, and Bookshop. We would feature authors and creatives such as Iniko, Bri Luna, Tayannah Lee McQuillar, Katelan V. Foisy, and The Queen Po. Our events for either month would focus on creating your own movie adaptation of your favorite novel in September and crafting your own tarot decks or season greeting cards in October.
Session Three
The Closure
March
The Soul
January - February
Session Four
This session would focus on all we have done over the last few months. I would throw a massive celebration and host two smaller kick backs at the beginning and end of the month. I would invite participants from previous sessions to come back and have an amazing time at our closing ceremony. I would also highlight the staff, creative team, and partners that have worked with us throughout the event series.
During each session and throughout the time of the event space being active I would like to invite creatives, content creators, and influencers to enjoy the space. I would also encourage attendees to share their experiences as well online. While this series would not be solely for content creation, I would establish partnerships with creatives to capture the space to build hype and attention. Also, along with the event series, I would also open the space during the day to be a small cafe/ restaurant. This operation would be small and not at full scale as I would not want a full restaurant vibe for the event space. Along with the cafe, I would like to have a space dedicated to supporting local businesses at the front of the space. My reason behind the cafe and shop would be to generate funds along with bringing attention to the space from everyday people. All of our events would have openings for everyday people who shopped at the store or cafe.
Soft yellow, red, and orange lighting
High quality organic materials
A view that takes your breathe away
This event space will dive into that ancient world charm and center organic materials ethically sourced from sustainable companies, small businesses, and vintage finds.
While I envision marble being used throughout the space, I also recognize the expense of the material along with the need for parts of the event space to be flexible as the months continue. This is why all heavy materials would be used on stationary regions like the bar, walls, some tables, and smaller decor pieces. I would focus on dark woods for those areas as well. I love a good rug but I also know that they can be hard to maneuver and take time to clean properly. Which is why I would follow the same guidelines as with the marble except in these circumstances, I would have rugs in low traffic areas. Most reserved for smaller spaces that only staff, special guests, and administrators would be able to fully access. This would still allow for rugs to accentuate the vibes of the space while being properly maintained but limit the amount of wear on them.
For lighting, I would have intentional overhead lighting that doesn't feel too invasive. Meaning no harsh lighting with an emphasis on floor lighting with accent/task lighting as well. I have been in spaces where the no overhead lighting rule was taken way too far and as a result I couldn't see the space properly. I would like to avoid this as much as possible because it is counterintuitive towards our mission of community, connection, play, and imaginative storytelling. Plus really dark lighting makes it hard for people to take fun pictures and I would like for people to be able to capture the memories they are making within the room. Lastly, as this event space is intricate and has a lot of moving parts, I imagine it would take some time for the entire event space to be built out. Which is why I would establish a team of creatives, architects, and companies to come together to build out the space. Originally, I planned for this space to be temporary and only last a year, though depending on funding and partnerships I could imagine this space being a creative force within the city. A design company I had in mind to assist with bringing the space to life would be Studiolotus. Their mission statement of following a deep contextual approach to their project by combining tactile, sensory, and experiential nature to storytelling is in direct alignment with my goal of the space.
